Host Nuria is one of the most praised hospitaleras on the entire Norte.

Ideally located 3 km from Colunga and 15 minutes from the Jurassic Museum of Asturias, the hotel also offers access to the spectacular coastal walking route through Güerres as an alternative way to reach Colunga.

Hotel Monte y Mar is frequently described by pilgrims as a genuine highlight of the Camino del Norte. Nuria — the host — goes far beyond what any star rating would suggest, arranging forward bookings for walkers, serving improvised pilgrim meals out of hours, and welcoming pets warmly. Moreover, she serves a three-course pilgrim dinner with wine at a very modest price — one of the best value meals on this stretch of the Way of St. James.

Note: Monte y Mar is one of only two accommodation options open in La Isla and the only place in the village serving dinner — plan accordingly. Additionally, rooms with mountain terrace views are the most comfortable and popular.
