Overview
Albergue de ANFAS de Estella is an association albergue for pilgrims with a credential on the Camino Francés. Run by ANFAS, the Navarrese Association for People with Intellectual Disabilities, it is located on Calle Cordeleros, close to Estella’s old town. The albergue has 24 beds in a shared dormitory. Facilities include a kitchen, laundry area, lockers, accessible bathrooms, and free Wi-Fi. The rate is €12, and it is open from 15 May to 10 September.
What makes this albergue unique is its volunteer hospitaleros. People with intellectual disabilities help run the albergue with support from trained companions. As a result, it offers one of the most meaningful stays on the Camino de Santiago.
It is located 250 metres from Estella’s historic centre. Therefore, shops, restaurants, and Camino services are all within easy reach.
