Cóbreces itself is a colourful village with a surprising number of heritage sites along the route, including the impressive Cistercian Abadía de Santa María de Viaceli — reportedly one of the first buildings of its type constructed using reinforced concrete. The Camino passes all the major points of interest right through town before descending to the beach, making Sanmar a perfectly positioned resting point.
