Pilgrim Insight
Espinal draws pilgrims who want to push a little further than Roncesvalles on that memorable first stage — and Albergue Haizea rewards the extra kilometres. Family-run by Gorka and Igor, the albergue brings a warm, personal atmosphere that fellow walkers consistently praise.
English, Spanish, and French are all spoken, the on-site restaurant serves a hearty pilgrim menu, and the peaceful village setting guarantees a good night’s sleep before the road to Pamplona. Note: this is a busy stage on the Camino de Santiago — booking ahead in summer is strongly recommended.

Reviews
I stayed here on May 2nd and the stay was really good. We even upgraded to a private room and had a good nights sleep.
The Pilgrim meal was busy with a pasta salad to start, meat stew for main and an orange for dessert with wine as well, all for €14.
Nice lady running the place and a good busy bar as well with locals. Recommended !
