Albergue La Llamarga
Albergue La Llamarga in Tornón
Overview
Albergue La Llamarga in Tornón is a private donativo albergue offering dormitory accommodation exclusively for pilgrims on the Camino del Norte. Set in the hamlet of Muslera within the municipality of Tornón, just 400 metres off the official Camino route, this welcoming property occupies a large estate with orchards and mature trees. Opened in 2014 and run by host Rosa, it offers communal dinner at 20:00 and breakfast until 08:30 — a proper pilgrim welcome at the end of a demanding coastal stage.
Conveniently located between Sebrayo and Villaviciosa on the Way of St. James, the albergue sits in some of the most tranquil green countryside on the entire Norte route.
Pilgrim Insight
Albergue La Llamarga has earned a devoted following among Camino del Norte walkers for its warm, family-run atmosphere and communal meals. Rosa and her team go out of their way for pilgrims, while the peaceful orchard setting and small capacity of just 12 beds make it feel more like a private home than a hostel.
Furthermore, pets are welcome — a rarity on the Norte — and the albergue holds a place on the Acogida Tradicional Jacobea list, recognising its commitment to the spirit of traditional pilgrim hospitality. Note: the albergue opens from 1 May to 31 October — advance booking is recommended as beds fill quickly.
