El Rincón de Bustio
El Rincón de Bustio in Bustio
Overview
El Rincón de Bustio in Bustio offers self-catering apartment accommodation for pilgrims and travellers on the Camino del Norte. This small tourist complex sits in the centre of Bustio — the first village of the Asturian coast and the official gateway to Asturias on the Way of St. James — right on the banks of the Deva-Cares estuary. It features 6 fully equipped soundproofed apartments (sleeping 2–4 each), with kitchen, washing machine, free Wi-Fi, TV, and private balconies. A bar and restaurant sit 20 metres away.
Conveniently located at the historic Bustio-Unquera bridge — the crossing point between Cantabria and Asturias on the Camino — the complex puts La Franca beach, the Cueva del Pindal World Heritage Site, and the Picos de Europa all within easy reach.

Pilgrim Insight
El Rincón de Bustio is a popular stop for Camino del Norte pilgrims wanting something more spacious and independent than a standard hotel room. After days of albergues, having a full kitchen, a washing machine, and a balcony overlooking the Tina Mayor estuary is a genuine luxury. Furthermore, hosts go out of their way for guests — one pilgrim reported arriving to find welcoming gifts of yoghurts and laundry powder waiting in the apartment.
Note: breakfast is not available at the complex — the restaurant 20 metres away opens for meals but walkers should check timings on arrival. Additionally, the Monumento Haciendo el Camino statue in Bustio marks the formal entry into Asturias — worth a look before setting off.
